Perserverance prevails

Published by sbelle under work from home Edit This

I am so thrilled and embued with new hope because my perserverance is paying off.  I have diligently pursued freelance writing opportunities, and my efforts are paying off.  I am able to pay my bills with the money I am earning, and I feel so hopeful and happy.

I began this journey with trepidation about earning enough money to make a difference, and now I see that I can do it.  And, I know that I can achieve my dreams.  Being a work at home mother is not an easy task, but it can be done with focus and determination, just as any other goal.

I have faith that the ball will just continue to roll and more opportunities will come my way.

Peace and beauty

Published by sbelle under Uncategorized Edit This

I absolutely love my children’s nursery.  It has a shabby chic feel to it, and I love the color of the walls.  It’s painted a very soft shade of green.  It’s like a pastel green, and it’s so soothing and pretty.  I have beautiful hatboxes sitting atop a pine armoir. I have a desk filled with pretty books and stationery.  My son’s colors are pastel blue, and my daughter’s are pink.  It’s really beautiful.

I hardly ever want to leave the room.  And, when I do, I don’t want to be away from it for long.  That’s the way a room, and even your home should be.  So beautiful and peace inspiring, that you hardly ever want to leave it.

I watched an episode of Peter Perfect, about a candy shop owner whose shop needed a makeover, and after the makeover was complete, she said that she didn’t ever want to leave her shop, because it was so beautiful.

Writing jobs

I discovered a new website that posts journalism and freelance writing jobs.  It’s at www.journalismnow.com .  It’s a good website for writers looking for a fulltime journalism job.

I interned at two magazines while a student in college, and I discovered that I don’t have a passion for print journalism.  But, I do have a passion for being with my children, so freelance writing is right up my alley.  And, I enjoy it for the most part.

Check out the website, those of you who are interested in a some great writing opportunities.  It will be worth your while, I’m sure.

Problogger

I encourage freelance writers and avid bloggers to visit www.problogger.com to view current blogging jobs.  It’s a great resource for writer and bloggers looking to find jobs.  Once you go to the website go to the job board to view the jobs.  Many bloggers love visiting this site, because they’re known to post good, legitimate blogging jobs.

I have applied to a number of jobs on their website, and have received some responses.  It’s definitely worth giving a try.  Another good website is www.virtualvocations.com .  With this website, you have to pay for membership to view the complete listing.  But, I’ve been able to view quite a few jobs enough to apply to them.

Etiquette teacher

Becoming a certified etiquette teacher is a great way to earn an income from home.  You can set your own hours and conduct classes from the comfort of your home.  There are numerous websites that you can visit if you are interested, but one in particular stands out to me.  It’s called www.etiquettemoms.com .  It basically shows how stay at home moms can earn good money by becoming etiquette teachers.  It lays out the lesson plans, marketing, press releases, and more to help you be a success in this endeavor.

It sounds like a rewarding career for those interested in working with children or helping people in their community.  If you or anyone you know is an etiquette teacher, please let me know how your experience is, and how enjoyable it is, and would you recommend it as a home business.

Time management

Published by sbelle under work from home Edit This

I’m trying hard to keep my writing commitments during this recuperation stage.  I already struggled with time management prior to the baby.  But, now, I’m struggling with motivation.  I just plain don’t feel like writing.  I prefer blogging to writing informative articles right now.  Right now, I’d rather chill and relax with my children instead of brainstorming for article ideas.  But, I have to maintain my focus, and realize that it’s a major blessing to be able to earn money and still be home with my kids.

Hopefully in the next weeks I will have a writing gig that I actually enjoy doing.  Then, maybe it will be easier to find the motivation to write when I need to.

Blessings

Published by sbelle under Uncategorized Edit This

I consider it a huge blessing that a credit card debt that I have will be cut by about 75 %.  I’m so glad about it.  Debt is such bondage.  People don’t seem to realize how limiting debt is.  For the most part, it dictates how you live your life, and what you can choose to do.

It is a block that keeps many women from being able to stay at home with their children.  It’s something that has made me want to return to full-time work, but I keep digging for other ways to earn the money to pay off debt.

Once I’m debt free, then I’m truly free.  Free to live the kind of life that I want, and not have to stress out about paying back debt.  I encourage any young person who has not incurred debt not to get any.  Don’t get into debt unless it’s absolutely necessary.  Which, in most cases, it’s usually unneccesary.

New focus for work from home success

Published by sbelle under work from home Edit This

Interesting that today I was feeling sad about having to leave my daughter for about 5 hours for three Saturdays out of the month starting in October.  I secured a tutoring position in August, and I thought it would be a great fit for me.  But, I still was reluctant to leave my baby for that length of time.  Even though I knew she would be in good hands in my absence.

Well, interestingly enough, the owner of the tutoring service called me today to let me know that he had found someone else to fill the position.  Apparently, according to him, he had tried to contact me via phone and email the first week of September to see if I still wanted the job.  Receiving no response from me, he decided to hire someone else.

What!!! I thought to myself.  I received no email or phone message from him!!  I was hurt, because despite my reluctance, I did need the extra money.  All I can say is, “Oh, well.”  Maybe it was meant for me not to work that job.  Which means that I have to work even harder with my writing jobs to make the money that I need.  Maybe that’s what God wanted me to do all along.
