Fruition Designs

Fruition-designs.com is a website devoted to graphic design.  It is a business ran by a stay at home mother, so it deserves to be spotlighted, because I love stories of work at home moms.  The owner, a mother of four, designs blogs, invitations, announcements, and various types of stationery.  From what I’ve seen she is very talented.  She started out as a part time graphic designer.  After the birth of her first child, she decided to design full time from home.  Her business continues to thrive, and I hope that she sees even more business success.

So be sure to visit this website if you are ever in need of a graphic designer.  Support work at home moms!! :)

She now owns SalonTea in Manhattan.  You can visit her website at www.salontea.com .  Her tearoom has received rave reviews, and she has appeared on various talk shows to showcase her expertise with tea.  She also has a book out on the variety of ways to host tea parties.

Young Tea Entrepreneur

I want to spotlight a young entrepreneur, Alicia Collins, who is the founder and owner of The Ritzy Pixie, a gift and tea shop located in Dallas, Georgia.  I went to high school with her, and I was truly inspired by her having her own tea shop geared toward girls.

At her store you can find cute gifts and experience a one stop shop to host a tea party for girls.  There are various packages to choose from.  Alicia began her career as a teacher, but then followed her passion for tea and tea parties and working with children into a fabulous career as the owner of The Ritzy Pixie.  You can check out her website at www.theritzypixie.com .

OrchidJones.com

I always get excited when I learn about female entrepreneurs, so I got really excited when I learned about Erin Walker, an Emory University alum, like me, who owns a bridal shop in New York that is filled with her own signature collection of bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses, and mother of the bride dresses.

She was an English major (like me!) who decided after college to attend design school and she began designing her own dresses.  This led to her starting her bridal collection.  I’m an avid watcher of the show, Whose Wedding is it Anyway? And she was on one of the episodes.  She created a bridal gown for one of the brides on the show.

So, if you know of anyone who is getting married be sure to steer them to www.orchidjones.com

Vanilla Bake Shop

I’m always inspired by female entrepreneurs, so I wanted to share about Amy Berman, owner of Vanilla Bakery.  Her website is www.vanillabakeshop.com . I first learned about her from watching Martha Stewart.  She was on there discussing her cupcakes during cupcake week.  I was inspired because she had a bake shop and she looked like a young woman.  I later learned that she was about 29 or so.  She quit her job working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry to open a bakery.

She said that she was inspired by her mother, who used to bake alot of delicious goodies for her family while she was growing up.  I love cakes and cupcakes, so I wanted to highlight this young woman entrepreneur.  I love reading about young women who pursue their dreams of entrepreneurship and express their creativity through their entrepreneurial pursuits.

Site Build It.

Since I’m a mother and I’m pregnant, I absolutely love learning as much as I can about natural birth and parenting.  There is a great website on this topic at www.naturalbirthandbabycare.com .  The owner of the website uses Site Build It for her website and encourages mothers who want to work from home to use Site Build It to build a website and business.  I think that it’s very encouraging.

I encourage you to go to her website and visit her about me page.  There, she entails how she came about starting her website and how it’s been successful and allowed her to be a stay at home mom to her three children, even while she was divorced!  It’s inspiring reading, and I love the website, because I’m a fan of natural parenting.  But, it’s also another great avenue for mothers to build an online business about something that they are passionate about. So, check out the website when you have a chance.

Entrepreneur spotlight #4

I love reading Romantic Homes magazine, and a few years ago, I read about a young female entrepreneur, Jenny Grumbles, who at the age of 24 opened her own store called Uptown Country Home.  She  graduated from college wanting to be a broadcast journalist, but realized that her true passion was decorating, painting, and gathering beautiful furniture for her store.

Her focus is on very feminine furniture, gifts, and stationery.  I have visited her website, and she has a lot of cute home decor to choose from.  I also love that she focuses a lot on the color pink, which has always been my favorite color.  She decorated her new home in mostly pink, and it is very delightful, romantic and whimsical.  If I lived on my own, I would want to decorate my home in a similar fashion.  I just thought I’d share about this young entrepreneur, because her story is inspiring.  I don’t know of many young women in their twenties who own and operate a cutesy store, and so I wanted to highlight her shop.  Feel free to check out her website, www.uptowncountryhome.net .

Entrepreneur spotlight #3

Since I’m in the process of decorating my daughter’s nursery and preparing for her arrival in a few weeks, I’ve been searching various websites and stores for cute items to decorate her room with.  In my search I came across a cute website that is owned by two stay at home moms, who are also sisters.  They went into business together because they wanted to be stay at home moms, so they created an online baby boutique selling nursery bedding, furniture, and other baby items.

It is a cute website, and it’s called, www.pinktaffydesigns.com .  Be sure to check it out if you are looking to decorate your child’s room, or maybe shopping for a cute gift for an expecting mother.  The sisters are Aimee Pool and Rebecca Stocker.

I always get excited when I read about stay at home moms who have successful online business ventures.  So, I wanted to hightlight their website, and encourage others to support this business.

Take care!

Designhergals.com

I visited a website the other day, designhergals.com, and had a blast creating a character to place on invitations.  This is a really cool website for those who want to create their own personalized stationery to send out to others, or to have for themselves, like notepads and such.  It’s great for creating invitaions, announcements, stickers, business and calling cards.

The company is ran by three women who each bring their own unique flair to the company.  Check out the website when you get a chance, and have fun creating your own sassy character that reflects you, that you can personalize for stationery.  Trust me, you will have fun expressing your creativity in such a refreshing way.

Startup Princess

I discovered a new website, startupprincess.com, which I found very inspiring and informative.  I love reading interviews and profiles of successful people, and this website has it.  The website is geared toward women entrepreneurs and features profiles of various women and their businesses.  I encourage readers to head over there and read about women who are making their mark.  Most of the women work from home doing what they love.

To me, that’s what life is all about.  Having a great family and earning an income from home doing something that you love.  What could be better?  I’m looking to dabble in something that I absolutely delight in, which is afternoon tea.  I’m researching doing children’s tea parties.  I think it would be so much fun.  I love tea and etiquette, and working with young ladies, and it would be a good weekend business for extra money.

I’m currently planning a baby shower, and I want to see how much fun it will be to plan and host it.  If it’s addicting, then it’s something that I may stick with.
