A commenter yesterday has a website, www.myincomespot.com, that is filled with great ways to earn money from home. He lists websites that pay for writing, paid survey opportunities, ways to increase your earning potential through blogging, and more. I perused the site yesterday, and discovered new opportunities that I am going to try for, as far as writing online.
So far I’m enjoying contentcurrent. I’ve only been posting on forums after the kids are asleep. I’m working on my article submission to write articles for them. Hopefully I will get approved, because it can provide good income.
Bright Hub is alright, but they have only a certain number of articles that you can write a month, and right now, it’s around 5 articles a month. I was informed that the quota changes from month to month. Hmmm. We’ll see.

Today at church the minister talked about the importance of figuring out what your purpose is, and following through with it. As Christians, we should live exciting lives, because we are excited about living out our purpose. Instead, many people live with dread and resentment in their hearts over going to a job that they hate everyday. We’re called to do more than just make a living. We are to live life on purpose, and do what we are called to do.
What are your strengths? What makes you excited and full of life? Consider how you can incorporate doing that into your daily life. Life is too short to live it unhappily, and with no true purpose. Even if you are a blogger or freelance writer, think about the subjects that you are passionate about and write about that. There are various ways that we can inject our passions into our daily lives, and create a life for ourselves that’s truly worth living.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

I watched Oprah last week, and she had a career expert on there who helped women figure out what their calling was. Or, rather, the career that suited them the best. He said that your career should focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses. Many people get stuck in jobs that require them to use their weaknesses, which result in resentment and dread regarding going to work each day.
When you have a job that highlights your strenghs, you feel more empowered and purposeful. You can go to www.oprah.com/workshop to take the free course. I’m going to do it to see if there are some strengths that I’m not utilizing, or have pushed to the backburner, not realizing how I can use it to help me in my career, or even for a career change.
But, who would want to give up being a freelance writer, right? :) I don’t plan to do that, but maybe it can help me to figure out other ways of generating income from home by using other strengths that I have. I think it’s worth it to go check it out.

It’s getting closer and closer to Christmas, and a part of me is excited. Another part is weary of having to finish shopping for gifts. Money is very tight, and I’m not sure of what I can get for people without looking cheap. I know that Christmas is about giving, but how about giving of time, fellowship, laughter, and food? Those are wonderful things to give. Hmm. Maybe I can give gifts of service. For example, my older brother eats nothing but take out everyday, because he can’t cook. Or, he just doesn’t. I could give him a gift certificate from me for a weeks worth of homecooking for him. I’m sure that would delight him. Or offer a few nights of babysitting service for my siblings with children. That’s about all I can think of for right now, and I think it would be a great idea.
If you’re in a pinch and you’re thinking of a way to give back, give of your time and efforts in a way that you know would truly benefit and help someone else. Get creative this season. Financially hard times doesn’t have to be mean lack of joy.

During this holiday season, it’s a great time to think about giving to others. Giving of your time, effort, money, or other resources. When thinking about your business, and growing your business, you should also think about giving. When you have a spirit of generosity, blessings will multiply towards you. You can even give away things through your business or blog, and in turn, reap greater profits through your business or more advertising. It’s always better to give than to receive we always hear. That’s because giving blesses the giver and the receiver. And you reap what you sow, because how you blessed someone, someone else will bless you. Maybe not in the same way, but you will be blessed.

I’ve been hearing about a home business in direct sales called thirty-one. With this business you sell handbags, stationery, and other gifts with free monogramming. The products are cute, and I have read of women who have had success with selling them. I’m considering selling some, because they have products that I would buy for myself. You can visit the website at www.thirtyonegifts.com . It seems like a great business for any outgoing stay at home mom who would like to sell cute totes, purses, and other gifts to friends and others. So, if you’re looking for a way to earn some extra money this holiday season, this business would be a great way to earn money and give some gifts too!!

I love watching Top Chef on Bravo. It inspires me to learn to become a better cook. It’s great to see people passionate about cooking and it’s fascinating to see how they come up with delicious dishes. It’s also itneresting to see their mishaps, and people’s reactions to their food.
I think that it takes guts to cook food for people. You have to be pretty confident that your food and cooking is pretty tasty. I’m not at the point that I would feel comfortable cooking for multitudes. I would be too self-conscious about my cooking skills. But, hopefully, someday soon, I will be able to proudly showcase my cooking skills.

I have a pageant gown to sell, so if anyone knows of a young lady who is competing in a pageant, and needs a dress, I have one. It is a stunning Claire’s Collection bronze dress. I wore it once while competing in the Miss GA USA pageant. Please let me know if you’re interested. I am willing to negotiate on the price. I need to get it off of my hands.
In other news. There’s a great blog at www.merchantmaidens.blogspot.com that interviews women who have home based businesses, and features multiple ways to earn money from home. It’s a great blog and quite inspiring.

I absolutely love my children’s nursery. It has a shabby chic feel to it, and I love the color of the walls. It’s painted a very soft shade of green. It’s like a pastel green, and it’s so soothing and pretty. I have beautiful hatboxes sitting atop a pine armoir. I have a desk filled with pretty books and stationery. My son’s colors are pastel blue, and my daughter’s are pink. It’s really beautiful.
I hardly ever want to leave the room. And, when I do, I don’t want to be away from it for long. That’s the way a room, and even your home should be. So beautiful and peace inspiring, that you hardly ever want to leave it.
I watched an episode of Peter Perfect, about a candy shop owner whose shop needed a makeover, and after the makeover was complete, she said that she didn’t ever want to leave her shop, because it was so beautiful.

I consider it a huge blessing that a credit card debt that I have will be cut by about 75 %. I’m so glad about it. Debt is such bondage. People don’t seem to realize how limiting debt is. For the most part, it dictates how you live your life, and what you can choose to do.
It is a block that keeps many women from being able to stay at home with their children. It’s something that has made me want to return to full-time work, but I keep digging for other ways to earn the money to pay off debt.
Once I’m debt free, then I’m truly free. Free to live the kind of life that I want, and not have to stress out about paying back debt. I encourage any young person who has not incurred debt not to get any. Don’t get into debt unless it’s absolutely necessary. Which, in most cases, it’s usually unneccesary.
